Russian gas share in Austria's imports rises to 71% in December

VIENNA, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- The share of Russian gas in Austria's imports soared to 71% in December from 41% in November, the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology said on Wednesday.

A ministry representative said that the information was provided by national regulator E-Control, to whom market participants are not obliged to disclose the exact source of the imported gas. This means that the figure in the report may increase in spite of the efforts the government makes to cut the share of Russian gas.
